چکیده

In this paper the simulation and assessment tool CLUE is described. This tool is able to simulate the performance of parallel programs using the message passing library PVM for communication, run on arbitrary parallel m achines, including PC clusters. CLUE redirects calls to PVM to its own functions, providing an additional layer between an application and PVM. The simulation is driven by the application execution itself. The applicability of CLUE is demonstrated in three case studies, where (i) different load predictors are compared, and (ii) the performance of a ma ster-slave parallelization and (iii) subroutines of the widely used ScaLapack linear algebra package are simulated.

Developing numerical algorithm and a new program for simulating alkali aggregate reaction in mass concrete

Nowadays, Alkali Aggregate Reaction is considered as one of the most dangerous weak points of concrete and its occurrence has been widely reported in various structures. In the current study, a program is developed for predicting and examining the effects of mentioned reaction on the three-dimensional analysis of concrete structures such as arch dams. In this regard, a program provided for dam ...

Compact Lossy Inductance Simulators With Electronic Control

In this paper two R‑L network simulator configurations employing a single VDDIBA, one resistance and one grounded capacitance are presented. The first configuration is a grounded series resistor-inductor (R‑L) network simulator and the second configuration is intended for grounded parallel resister-inductor (R‑L) circuit simulation. Both the proposed circuits enjoy several beneficial features s...

Execution-Driven Simulation Approach for Multiprocessor Architectures

There are three common approaches to the design of a simulator: event based approach, time based approach and the process based approach. The approach chosen when designing the model should be based on the characteristics of the system under study. One accepted approach of simulating an existing or developing architecture is trace-driven simulation. However, there are multiple problems while ap...

Implementation of parallel graph algorithms on a massively parallel SIMD computer with virtual processing

We describe our implementation of several PRAM graph algorithms on the massively parallel computer MasPar MP-1 with 16,384 processors. Our implementation incorporated virtual processing and we present extensive test data. In a previous project [13], we reported the implementation of a set of parallel graph algorithms with the constraint that the maximum input size was restricted to be no more t...
